Frostbite and carols

Posted on

Hi Everyone,

The committee have considered the state of our water and have decided that regrettably we will have to cancel the Frostbite series this year.

However we know how popular our Carols and mince pies get together is so this will still go ahead but in a different format. If there is enough depth of water by December 8th we will have one winner takes all Frostbite race, a minimum length of 50 minutes with an 11 o’clock start. This will be followed by traditional Carols, mince pies and a presentation at about half past twelve. We have also suggested the model boaters could have a race following our Frostbite dinghy race. Please note that this year the celebrations will take place on a Saturday morning, December 8th.

If you still wish to sail a Frostbite/winter series in the area, many members will be on tour this winter. The following local clubs have Open Frostbite series; Shotwick, Colemere, Whitemere and Llandudno have a mini icicle series.  Please check relevant websites for more details. If you are interested in going please us an email via the usual emails or

We can then put you in touch with other Gresford sailors who aim to attend other clubs for their Frostbite series.

Best Wishes,

GSC Committee
